We Are Riverdale: NAHS Mural Project

Premise
“We Are Riverdale” is a mural project our club, National Art Honor Society, painted and created at Riverdale High School. What led to the idea and eventual creation of the project was the construction that our school is undergoing. Our school's campus of fifty years has to grow to accept new students and families moving into the forever-growing city of Murfreesboro, TN. And as such, new classrooms are being built, new auditoriums, and even more. But with these new additions came the loss of Riverdale’s charming courtyard. The accessible courtyard doors that led to our convivial campus became boarded up, sealed with wooden panels. To make the most out of this situation, NAHS decided to innovate as we usually do. We saw these boarded walls as blank canvases. We made a plan to start murals all around our school where our courtyard doors have been. NAHS wanted to lively up the space, and so "We Are Riverdale" was created.
